well there making another remake of karate kid..

I think Jackie Chan can do a good Mr. Miyagi role, but the kids are just too damn young for this to seem both plausible or entertaining.

That was what i first thought too. The kids are very young… I was just psyched about Jackie Chan.

Me too. Despite the movie being called Karate Kid, which is a Japanese martial art, and the movie taking place in China with a Chinese teacher, I like Chan as an actor and martial artist.

I just hate the young crowd it’s marketing to, considering how old the original is. Also, it seems to be trying to take on an urban feel, and it cheapens the movie. It should be an epic remake, but we all know it’ll be some cash-whoring rehash of a classic film.

When I lived in India for five years the only movies that I could watch and were in English were all Jackie Chan movies. I think I watched too many of his movies to count. So yeah, he’s a bit of an icon for me.

As for a martial artist, I read an interview for the forbidden kingdom movie where he claimed in his fight scene with Jet Li that “The first two takes were so fast that everybody had to tell us to slow down or they’d have to use slow motion”. That I what I call talent.

His fight scene in Wheels On Meals against Benny “The Jet” Urquidez is honestly the greatest on scene fight scene of all time. Truly epic.
