Warning: Server has lost connection to steam: Server, or me?

SubscribeIn the last two days Ive gotten too many messages explaining that i cannot view my load out because the server has lost connection with steam. I feel like Neil Armstrong on the dark side of the moon.
What im looking for is a fix.
As of now ive tried four common things.
Ive ended the steam process tree and restarted steam.
Ive turned off my internet security before connecting to steam.
Ive restarted my computer (but I haven’t unplugged it to clear my ram- maybe ill try that next).
Ive deleted my ‘ClientRegrestry.blob’ file in steam, and restarted to refresh the connection settings. (this usually works for EVERY steam connection issue)
Im going to continue to excavate the depths of Google to find a fix. If anyone can save me some time on that, please enlighten me. Thanks.
If I find the fix that fits ill share it with you all. Maybe ill check Ebay.
Think we’ve all been getting this recently. I’ve found no fix, but then again, I haven’t bothered to either.

The server has been running on an old version all night. It is updating now, that may be the reason.
It wasn’t anything to do with our server, it was happening everywhere yesterday. Valve themselves have admitted that there’s some reliability issues with the inventory system since the update came out. Not to mention a lot of people are missing items that they should have from achievements. (They’ll be delivered over the next few days apparently, for anyone else who’s missing anything).
