Your TF2 Setup

WELL, hell, I don’t know how many people here go beyond the default selections for TF2, but I always enjoy seeing settings on which people play on. You can post any HUD changes, scripts, or even out-of-the-ordinary controls you use (I know someone who uses a straight line of keys for moving around instead of the traditional WASD-shape).

HUD screenshots for my three main classes:

I currently have viewmodels off for everyone except Medic, Spy, and all melee weapons (Except for the Heavy since his gloves take up a huge amount of screen). I have my primary set to a green crosshair, secondary to red, and melee to white, except for the Medic, where primary and secondary colors are reversed.

For every class, except for Spy and Medic where the controls vary, I have several voice command buttons.

  • MOUSE1: Attack attached with a “CHEERS” “POSITIVE” “GOOD JOB” or “NICE SHOT” voice line.
  • MWHEELUP: Cheers & Positives
  • MWHEELDOWN: Jeers & Negatives
  • MOUSE3: Nice Shot & Good Job
  • R: Random voice lines.
  • CAPS LOCK: Drop Intel & “Activate Charge!”
  • (I don’t use these in harmony with each other or anything, I just figured I don’t use CAPS LOCK much in-game, so I would also bind it to one of my favorite voice commands)

For Spy, all those keys, except MOUSE1 and Caps Lock change.

  • MWHEELUP: Friendly Pyro
  • (sometimes used to scare away people so they don’t get too close when I don’t want them too)
  • MWHEELDOWN: Friendly Medic
  • (sometimes used as a lure to get people to come closer since people love chasing and attacking lone Medics)
  • MOUSE3: Last Disguise
  • (used to change dummy weapon, usually)
  • R: Selects a random disguise of either Scout, Pyro, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy

I also have a bunch of minor scripts, but those are the ones I find myself using a lot of the time (ESPECIALLY VOICE COMMANDS, I love using them according to situation).

SO HOW ABOUT YOU, how many of you have something different from the default?

Welcome to the forums infusion.

Hmm .. binding voice commands to your regular action commands is interesting …

My setup is largely unchanged except for:
unbind MOUSE2
bind MOUSE3 +voicerecord ~in game voice
Bind MOUSE4 +attack2 ~secondary attack
Bind MOUSE5 +attack2 ~secondary attack

Then my interp settings:
bind “o” “cl_interp_ratio 2; cl_updaterate 67; cl_cmdrate 67; cl_interp .01; rate 100000”
bind “p” “cl_interp_ratio 2; cl_updaterate 67; cl_cmdrate 67; cl_interp .1; rate 100000”

I use m0rehud 6v6,

T is binded to “Thanks!” and that’s about all I have.

Factory default for everything else.

Sometimes I will bind some spammy voice line like jeers just to be annoying, but other than that I mainly spam Medic and Thanks! all over the place. (Wha? I like letting people know that I appreciate them jumping in front of an m1’ing pyro, slowing him just enough so I can place a rocket into his skull without burning :D)

TF2 runs 100% vanilla on my rig. No shmancy shit, nothing.

Good news, everyone!

I’ve recently made a small change to my HUD and colored my ammo count, JUST FOR THE SAKE OF DOING IT.
Class with a viewmodel on.

Class with no viewmodel.

Ammo count with no reserve amount.

I originally thought it looked pretty with a blue coloring, but then I decided pink and green stood out the best.

Vanilla here other than a couple swaps like using c to crouch rather than ctrl and using my MB4 for quick swap.

The only change I have is an fps config since my laptop is so bad…
