I am a TF2 fan who started out on the Xbox and later bought TF2 for the PC. I have gotten familiar with the overall gameplay, but I have not had a chance to explore the custom maps for the computer version of the game. The reason is I am missing some files in order to play these custom maps. I am guessing I will have to download these certain files from the Internet, but beyond that I do not know. What sites have these files, and which ones are safe? Do I have to download these files to a certain folder, and which one? Any information anyone could provide would be much appreciated.

Usually in the PC version the server will automatically give you the files you need to download. Just join the server and it makes you download the map or any other files you need. It will put them in the correct folder for you no need for anything else.

As far as any of them being dangerous I am not sure.

also make sure you have downloads enabled in your multiplayer options..

Ah, okay…I think I have downloads currently disabled, so that’s probably why it isn’t working for me. Thanks!
